Young women should start seeing a gynecologist at any point they begin having female-related health issues. This could be as early as childhood or when their periods begin. Pediatricians often refer patients to us for abnormalities, delayed or premature sexual development. Routine examinations should begin when women become sexually active or at the age of 18.
